The weather in the state of Washington can be brutal on siding. From the considerable amounts of rain in Puget Sound to the extreme heat and cold of the Palouse in central and eastern Washington, choosing the right siding for your area is important. Siding acts as a skin to your home against the elements and is probably the largest contributor to your home’s curb appeal. Builders FirstSource has the inventory, top siding brands, and expertise to ensure you get the right products for the job.

Whether you are specifying the siding products for your new construction project in Seattle or repairing and replacing existing materials in Vancouver, we will help you consider all the key factors with convenient locations all over the state of Washington.

Durability

Durability is a key factor in maintenance and cost.

Appearance

Appearance is also an important consideration when choosing your siding. The color, texture, and style of siding you choose should enrich the look, not just protect it from weather.

Cost

Cost is always a consideration; our staff can help you accurately estimate the quantities and provide a competitively priced quote.

Maintenance

Maintenance is also important in siding selection. You will want to take into account the warranty, painting, cleaning, and maintenance required.

Installation

Installation of sidings varies from quick and easy to challenging and time-intensive. The installation can greatly affect the cost of the project and the timeline.

Fiber cement by James Hardie® is one of the most popular horizontal lap sidings for all conditions in Washington and is available in standard primed grey or in several pre-painted colors through its patented ColorPlus® technology. Fiber cement looks nice and is extremely durable. It is termite resistant, non-combustible, and carries up to a 30-year warranty, depending on the product. This product is heavy and brittle, which can make installation a little more difficult.

The majority of modern sidings in the Pacific Northwest strive to imitate the appearance of wood. Engineered wood siding such as Smartside® from LP Building Products® has an authentic wood grain appearance, is lightweight, and easy to work with, and comes with a 50-year warranty.

A large selection of cedar and specialty sidings is also available. Contact one of our representatives today to discuss your project.
